So I'm working on a work of fiction. I'm up to 5,394 words. I'm running though it again before I bother having anyone else turn an eye to it.
I have to admit that this work of fiction could be described as fanfic.
And I know there are different types of Fanfic, Unfortunately the new no internet policy here (posting from email, as you see) limits my ability to research.
In short, I'm borrowing the world, and cosmology from another author to make up a story which at the moment and for the foreseeable future, only uses one character from the original work. So it's certainly fanfic.
I wonder if they do have classifications, beyond slashfic (roflyaoi!!!) of the types. I'm sure someone has.

Number is commonly abbreviated "No." as in "I'm No. 1!"
Number doesn't have an o.
The character in the Character map is called a Numero. Which does.

To anyone who knows what I'm talking about, does the most interesting man in the world in the commercials for Dos Equis remind anyone else of Comte de Saint-Germain in UA?

How does one determine Spoiler Policy <http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/main/spoilerpolicy> or Spoilers Off <http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/main/spoilersoff> status? John Scalzi <http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/main/johnscalzi> has a proposal for this: <http://whatever.scalzi.com/2009/03/06/spoiler-statute-of-limitations/>
"Look, Watchmen <http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/main/watchmen> is 23 years old. Surely the statute of limitations on spoiling the book has run out by now. SPOILER ALERTS should not be in effect forever. Yes, they have their place: If I had run out of The Crying Game screaming, "The chick's a dude!" as people were waiting to see it for the first time, it would be a case of justifiable homicide. But now, in 2009? Sorry, man. You missed your window to be outraged.
A spoiler statute of limitations needs specific times; before, you need spoiler bars; after, you don't.
Proposed spoiler statute of limitations:
* Television: Spoiler bars only until the next new episode of the series airs. This can be as little as one week early in the season; between seasons, it can be months. The series finale will be treated as if it were a movie. * Movies: Spoiler bars no longer than eighteen months unless a direct sequel gets announced during that time. This should be enough time for everyone interested to see it in the theaters, on DVD, and on non-pay-per-view cable, and to see it in season if it's a seasonal movie. If there is a direct sequel, spoiler bars shall be left up until it is released or determined to be firmly in Development Hell <http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/main/developmenthell> , * Books: Spoiler bars: five years after initial publication for works of fiction (because books don't reach as many people at one time), or initial popularization if that happens after publication but before the original limit expires.
